MARK FRANCHETTI
Writer, producer director In 2013 Franchetti Produced The Condemned, an indy feature-length documentary about a remote Russian prison exclusively for murderers. In 2015 produced and co-directed Bolshoi Babylon, a feature-length documentary about the Bolshoi Theatre, for HBO and the BBC. He has presented and produced several BBC prime time documentaries. Franchetti worked for 25 years as a foreign correspondent for the Sunday Times of London. In the last two decades he has been based in Moscow. He was awarded the British Press Award in 2003, after reporting on the Moscow theatre siege, when he entered the building twice during the hostage taking to interview the terrorists and a Foreign Press Association award in 2004 for his reports on the alleged abuse of Iraqi civilians by U.S Marines. He has written extensively about Russia and the former Soviet Union and covered the conflict in Chechnya and the wars in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, and Ukraine. |
ANDREW MEIER
Writer, producer director Meier is a nonfiction author and journalist who writes on political and foreign affairs. At present, he is a contributor to The New York Times Magazine. BLACK EARTH: A Journey Through Russia After the Fall (W.W. Norton, 2003) was widely hailed as one of the best books on Russia to appear since the end of the USSR. THE LOST SPY: An American in Stalin’s Secret Service (W.W. Norton, 2008) is an award-winning biography of the first-known American to spy for the Soviets, Isaiah “Cy” Oggins. Both books were named to a number of “Book of the Year” lists. Meier is currently at work on a biography of the Morgenthau family—four generations spanning the presidencies of Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy—to be published by Random House. |
DAVID CHARAP
Editor, co-writer Editor David Charap has a varied and distinguished career working across all drama and documentary formats. In feature films, David is known in Britain for his regular collaboration with directors like Dominic Savage (FREEFALL, THE ESCAPE), Pawel Pawlikowski (THE WOMAN IN THE FIFTH, MY SUMMER OF LOVE) and Terence Davies (SUNSET SONG, DEEP BLUE SEA). In documentary, David’s work includes the BIFA award winning Best Documentary THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS, the Prix Italia winning THE BESLAN SIEGE, and Emmy Award winning VOICES OF THE CHILDREN. He has steered numerous acclaimed Storyville and Britdoc projects to completion, such as BOLSHOI BABYLON (dir. Nick Read), and MY NAZI LEGACY (dir. David Evans).He is proud to have nutured Vadim Jean's project about the Angola 3, released as CRUEL AND UNUSUAL. David’s TV drama work ranges from the hit series UTOPIA and (THE DEVIL'S WHORE for Channel 4(Winner RTS Television Award: best drama serial, Nominated BAFTA: best drama serial) to the BBC’s THE GREEN HOLLOW and TRUE LOVE. He helped launch Sky Arts Playhouse with THE MAN (dir. Ian Softley), and has cut WE’LL TAKE MANHATTAN (dir John McKay), and POPPY SHAKESPEARE (dir. Ben Ross). |
LARS SKREE
Director of Photography Lars Skree graduated as Director of Photography from the National Film School of Denmark in 1997. He has filmed a number of feature and documentary films, receiving awards for his cinematography, among Sundance film festival Best World Cinema Cinematography 2011 for Putin’s 'Kiss', Emmy nominated 2012 for Armadillo ‘The Swenkas’ , Armadillo ‘Love on Delivery’, ‘Ticket to Paradise’, The Oscar nominated 'The Look of Silence' Dir. Joshua Oppenheimer. He won the Golden Frog award in 2015 for The look of silence at Camera image. Skree, who put his life on the line while filming the war drama ‘Armadillo’ in Afghanistan, received the Roos Award 2010. Other films include KAILASH, which won the Sundance Grand Jury prize for best documentary, STOLEN DAUGHTERS: KIDNAPPED BY BOKO HARAM (HBO) and GENERATION WEALTH (PREMIERED, SUNDANCE, 2018). |

Music composition Simon Elms and Colin Smith are a multi award winning London based composing duo with their own music company, called Eclectic, situated in Soho. They also own a post production company called Bark Soho and music supervision and library company called Syncbubble. Recent Feature Documentary credits include: “The Condemned” - Nominated for a Grierson Award 2015.“Bolshoi Babylon” - Nominated for two Emmy Awards in 2016 for best music and sound and for best feature-doc. “Kaiser - The Greatest Footballer To Never Play Football” and “Against the Tides”. 2019 Releases include "Calcio Storico" - Calcio Storico Fiorentino is the most brutal sport on earth, it is also the heartbeat of the city of Florence. "Dancing at the Vatican" a sad insight into the sufferers of Huntingtons Disease and one mans attempt to de-stigmatise this illness by taking a huge group of sufferers to meet the Pope. In 2010 Eclectic won awards at Cannes 2010 for its work for the Philips short film series. In 2012 it won a best composition award at the Music & Sound Awards. In July 2013 Eclectic was awarded a Gold at the Lions festival for its work on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus virals. In 2015, as well producing award winning adverts such as Kenco’s ‘Coffee V’s Gangs’ and Johnny Walkers ‘Gentlemans Wager’ [starring Jude Law]. Eclectic also won music production company of the year at Berlin’s Ciclope Craft Festival. |
